DU Admissions 2018: 51.3 percent students from National capital to get into Delhi University

According to the university’s admission portal, the national capital created a record of most number of applicants out of over 2.70 lakh registrations for admission to the top ranked Delhi University. The  data showed that Delhi is followed by Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar and Rajasthan. As per the data shared by the varsity, Karnataka is the state with least number of applicants, followed by Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.

Around 51.3 percent students are from Delhi, 28.2 percent from UP, 16.9 from Haryana, 6.2 percent from Bihar and 4.3 percent from Rajasthan while Karnataka has the least ratio i.e 0.1 percent, followed by Chandigarh’s 0.2 percent, Arunachal Pradesh’s 0.25 percent, Gujarat’s 0.29 percent and Tamil Nadu’s 0.3 percent.

The admission was started earlier on the 15th of May, while the registration ended on 7th June, Thursday.This year is special as 2,78,544 candidates have made their payments whereas only 2.20 lakh students made it last year.

The ratio of male is 51.78 percent while the female is 48.21 percent whereas only 0.01 percent from the third gender category. According to sources, the university has declared a total of five cutoff lists with the notification for the first cut-off scheduled to be issued on 19th of June.
