Delhi University’s School of Open Learning(SOL) starts online admission process;Eligibility and procedure for SOL admissions 2017

As soon as the board exam results of CBSE, ISC  and other board exams Class XII are declared , the students  start applying for admissions to Delhi University (DU) and other universities for graduation in various courses. School of Open Learning(SOL) is an excellent alternative for such students who wish to continue studies while at job or pursuing other interests. In order to apply at SOL, a student must have completed class 12 or intermediate from a recognized board.  Last date to apply online is July 31, 2017.
This year 10 new honours courses under its School of Opening Learning (SOL) are initiated. These courses will   include undergraduate as well as vocational courses for the upcoming academic session. Courses like Bachelor of Vocation in human resource management are being introduced.  It is also important to note that the course structure and syllabus has already been prepared. The courses have been  approved by the university and the distance education board before starting the programme,  the courses which will commence include BSc (honours) mathematics, BA (honours) history, BA (honours) economics, BA (honours) Hindi, BA (honours) psychology, BA (honours) Sanskrit, BA (honours) Hindi journalism,  BVoc in human resource management, BVoc in office management and secretarial practices and  BVoc in marketing management and retail business.  School of Open Learning (SOL), University of Delhi has begun the application process for admission to distance under graduate courses for 2017-18 academic session.
DU,  through SOL, offers the following five courses in distance mode: BA (Honors) in English, BA (Honors) in Political Science ,BA Programme, B.Com. (Honors), B.Com. Programme

Specific Recruitments:

  • Candidates securing 70% marks in the English Core Language in Class XII and 60% in aggregate will be eligible for direct admission (OR)
  • Candidates securing 60% marks in English Elective and 60% in aggregate will be eligible for direct admission
  • Provided that the candidate has qualified as per the above criteria in the paper of English carrying a minimum weight of 100 marks in Class XII
  • Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
  • At least 45% in the aggregate with Political Science in any of the examinations recognised by the University of Delhi
  • Specific Recruitments: Candidates securing 60% marks in the aggregate without Political Science in Class XII will be eligible for direct admission in Political Science (Honours) First Year
  • Candidates securing 45% in aggregate
  • Minimum Eligibility Criteria:55% in Aggregate, or 60% Aggregate of vocational/technical stream with commerce

Specific Recruitments: The number of seats in Business Data Processing (Subsidiary) for B.Com (Honours) is limited and admission will be on the basis of merit.

Students who wish to seek admission to an undergraduate course, where a particular subject or a group of subjects is required for admission; such students must have passed in the subject/subjects concerned separately for purpose of admission to such courses.

At the time of registration, candidates are required to attach the following documents with the form (scanned copies in case of online registration):

One should note that the digital size of the file of the photographs must be more than 4 kb and less than 24 kb with a resolution of 100-pixel width and 120-pixel height (.jpg format). Secondly ,the signature must be uploaded in jpg format. The digital size of the signature file must be more than 1 kb and less than 12 kb with resolution of 40 pixel width by 60 pixel height (jpg format) and the digital size of the file other than Photograph and Signature (like 10th mark sheet, 12th mark sheet, 12th Certificate, etc) must be less than 2 MB(.pdf format)

Procedure to be followed for admission be like any student firstly needs to Go to the SOL, DU website (https://sol.du.ac.in/) and click on the New user tab then Register by providing your name, email id, and mobile number.  Then  after registration you will get a password on your email and phone number. Now login using your registered email id and  password. After that Enter the required details and upload documents. Lastly verify all the details and make admission fee payment. One should note that foreign students who are recipients of Government of India Scholarship/sponsorship by any agency of Government of India will be exempted from the Entrance Examination.

After successful payment, student’s SOL Roll number and fee receipt number will be displayed on the screen. Students must note these down and keep it safe. Do not forget to take a print out of the fee receipt and ID Card which will be generated after  completion of the entire process.
