On Saturday, two non- dalit faculty members from the university of Hydrabad resigned off their administrative posts to express solidarity with the protesting students, seeking justice for Rohith, as reported in TOI.
Two professors who resigned are Prof. Soumya D from center for comparative literature and Prof. Anupama from school of computer and information sciences.
In a statement on her resignation letter, Prof. Anupama said ” I am resigning from the three commitees in protest against the insensitive attitude of the administration”
Few days back before resignation of these two professors, over 10 dalit faculty members of University of Hyderabad had resigned from their administrative posts, protesting against remarks of the union HRD minister Smiriti Irani.
