CYSS on indefinite hunger strike amidst DUSU, are they still in the race to DUSU?

Student Union CYSS is sitting on indefinite relay hunger strike for the last three days in disagreement with and in defiance of Delhi University administration.  Hostels for all, same course same fees, better sports facilities and 24X7 library are some of their major demands. Remember last year CYSS fought elections in alliance with AISA. The alliance lost it to the ABVP. This year CYSS is in no mood to take risk and is urging the administration that this time the elections should be conducted through ballot paper.

CYSS student member Jai said that they will fight the DUSU election on the approval of ballot paper, ‘last year our joint-secretary candidate was winning with a considerable margin. But on the end time somebody tampered the EVM and what happened then is in front of everyone.’

While the ABVP announced their list of eight possible candidates for DUSU, other student unions are still speculating. CYSS to hold an internal meeting on 1st September to break the ice whether they will be competing this DUSU election or not.  On the other hand the NSUI released their DUSU campaign but there is no news of who they put on ground for DUSU.
