CWG-2014: These Women Players can bring Medals for India

The Commonwealth Games is going to be held in Glasgow from July 23. The female athletes in individual events are ready to brighten the country.India’s medal race will monitor these female athletes.

Jwala Gutta (Badminton, Mixed Doubles)
This 30 years old player is not at the peak her career but Jwala Gutta holds the potential to win a medal  with   Ashwini Ponappa  for India. Together they won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Dipika Pallikal (squash)
At the age of 22 years Dipika  Pallikal became one of the world’s top ten squash players. Dipika  is country’s medal hopes at Glasgow. Recently married with Cricketer Dinesh Karthik, Dipika will play in singles, Women’s doubles and in mixed doubles. Joshna Chinappa will be her partner in Women’s singles and and  Saurav Ghosal  will be partner of Deepika in mixed doubles.

Ashwini Ponappa (Badminton, Mixed Doubles)
Ashwini Ponappa has won many titles in the badminton doubles with Jwala Gutta. In Uber Cup she has shown great improvement in his game

Heena Sidhu (10 m Air Pistol)
In Delhi Commonwealth Games Heena Sidhu had won silver in the singles event and won a gold medal in doubles in air pistol. She also took part in the London Olympics. Last year in Munich, winning a gold medal at the World Cup finals proved its mettle by Hina. Henna is also India’s medal hopes.

Manika Batra (table tennis)
Manika Batra of Delhi is very  attacking player. Manika’s singles table tennis in the way it can be difficult but in mixed doubles she can do better with her counterpart Sanil Shetty.
