Even though he might play negative roles on the big screen, he is truly turning out to be a hero in real life with the amount of work he has done to help migrant workers who are stranded during the lockdown. Via his twitter page, he has constantly responding to people seeking help and has helped them reach home. With his Ghar Bhejo initiative that he started in May, he has helped 1000s of stranded migrant workers reach their homes in UP, Bihar, Karnataka, and Gujarat.

Along with his on-ground work, the way he responds to people who reach out to him on twitter for help is heartwarming. Responses such as “karta hoon kuch bhai”, “Don’t worry, You will go home”, and “Will make you meet your father brother. Parents are precious…on it” just shows the humble nature of the man.

Sonu Sood attributes his work to his mother, a professor who always taught him to be humble and has been feeding more than 45,000 people daily in parts of Mumbai such as Juhu, Bandra, Jogeshwari, and Andheri. In an interview with Zee News, he stated that “I will continue my work until every migrant worker reaches their home. I don’t mind the hard work it requires but it is important for me that everyone reaches their home.”

The work the actor has done and his online presence serves to be an inspiration for all of us as the world goes deeper and deeper into the coronavirus crisis and darker times. His work has shown that he is not just an actor who delivers big lines on screen, but a man who works for those less fortunate than him in real life. Sonu Sood shows the power of support and charity and is a shining example for Bollywood and the rest of India to help those in need.
