‘Bollywood at Rashtarpati Bhawan’

After getting big mendate from the people of India, finally ‘Narendra Damodar Das Modi’ has taken oath as the 15th Prime Minister of India. Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremoney turned out quiet a bollywood affair, as Salim Khan to Salman Khan and Rakesh Roshan to Hrithik Roshan, were present at Rashtarpati Bhawan to be part of this historical event.

Where the heads of all SAARC countries were present at the location, some of our bollywood stars also shared the chairs of Raisina Hill with these senior political and religious leaders. Famous faces of bollywood like actor Salman Khan with father and script writer Salim Khan, Dharmendra with his MP wife Hema Malini, Anupam Kher and her newly elected MP wife Kiron Kher, also witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi and his cabinet. Except these faces few BJP supporters from bollywood like Vivek Oberoi and Chetan Bhagat, whose book adaptation 2 States managed big moolah at box office, also spooted it this grand ceremony.

While invitations of the events were also sent to Superstars Amitabh Bachchan, South Star Rajnikant and melodious singer Lata Mangeshkar, but these celebs failed to attend the occasion due to their personal and professional commitments. Even Lata ji apologised for her absence on micro blogging site, Twiiter. She tweeted, “”Despite getting your invitation I had to decline it with a heavy heart as my health did not permit me to attend the ceremony,” Lata said in a hand-written letter, which was posted by Modi on Twitter. Wishing Modi for his new beginning, Lata said, “Narendra bhai, today the whole country is with you as you begin your new journey.”

Few well known personalities from bollywood as film maker Madhur Bhandarkar, Music Composer turned Politician Bappi Lahiri, Vettaran actress Poonam Dhillon, Vinod Khanna, TV actress turned politician Samriti Irani and Bhojpuri singer and actor Manoj Tiwari were also spotted in the crowd.

As bollywood shared this hardcore political occasion, it is now enough clear that bollywood is now deeply associated with the politics of the country. The bollywood celebs not just attended this event but some of them like Bappi Lahiri, Kirron Kher and Hema Malini also fought elections and won for different political parties. We can just hope that this relationship of Bollywood and Politics will be deeply developed in upcoming years and it is quite clear from the new and unique policies of the newly elected Prime Minister of the Country.
