BloodConnect hosted their week-long Annual Event campaign “Khoon Chala”

According to WHO, 3 out of 10 people in need of blood don’t get it, therefore BloodConnect was found on the belief that if an additional 2% of the country’s young adults donated blood twice a year, the requirement would be met. Aiming to translate the spirit of Independence into a commitment to a better society, BloodConnect hosted their week-long Annual Event campaign “Khoon Chala” from 1st to 8th August, 2015 at Sri Sathya Sai International Center New Delhi

Who else could have been a better choice when it came to inspiring youngsters towards the cause than Kanan Gill, one of India’s most celebrated youth icons? To infuse young Indians with a sense of commitment, BloodConnect teamed up with Kanan to hold a massive blood donation campaign that motivated youth to do their bit in solving blood shortage in the country. Kanan’s wit and humor combined in a very right measure managed to keep the laughter ringing among the audience.

During the week-long campaign, BloodConnect hosted multiple activities, including 12 blood donation camps across different cities, collecting more than 1000 unit of blood. They also hosted a Twitter selfie contest throughout the week to spread the spirit of blood donation amongst the youth. Each winner received tickets to the concert, which drew over 1500 fans.

The concert held at Sri Satya Sai Centre also saw the presence of Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Indian Member of Parliament, who addressed the audience and left a lot to ponder upon.The event campaign proved to be a major success for the organization. Determined to make the upcoming year much more fruitful, the day ended with high hopes and a commitment to a blood-sufficient India.
