Annual Day of Law Society celebrated at AMU

ALIGARH May 8:

The Law Society, Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University organized a programme to mark its Annual Day. On this occasion, prizes were distributed to winners of the various events organized by the Society over the year.

Prof. Iqbal A. Khan, Dean, Faculty of Law, who addressed the students as chief guest, appreciated active participation of the Society in smooth functioning of the Faculty and department. He said that the success of the first Sir Syed National Moot Court Competition is a witness to combined efforts and dedication of the teachers and members of the Society.

Dr. Javed Talib, Incharge, Law Society congratulated the members for their hard work and successful journey.

Presenting the annual report, Ms. Anam Rais Khan, Secretary of the Society said that “the successful holding of Sir Syed National Moot Court Competition 2015 in which 24 teams from all over India participated, was a big achievement”. It further organised interactions with eminent people including Justice Markandey Katju, Mahmood Paracha, Dr Susanne from George Washington Law School and Mr. James Chang from Harvard University. The Society also initiated Winter Literary Week to involve students in large number in creative activities.

The members of the Society presented cultural programmes on this occasion. Prof. Zafar Mahfooz Nomani, Prof. Shakeel Samdani, Prof. M. Ashraf, Dr Waseem Ali, Dr. Hashmat Ali Khan, Dr. Tabassum Chaudhary, Dr. Roshan Ara, Dr. Rabab Khan, Mr. Syed Aqa Raza, Mr. Altamish Siddiki, Moot Court Secretary, Ms. Roshan Alam Joint Editor, and Joint Secretaries Mr. Mohammad Haider Abbas, Mr. Ali Faran Gulrez and Shreya Mahalwar were also present. Vice President Mr. Mohammad Tariq Umar proposed the vote of thanks.
