AMUSU Organizes Mega Job Expo “RECUFEST-15”

“The CEO’s and HR’s of various multinational Companies will find a wealth of talent in the students of Aligarh Muslim University said AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd). General Shah was addressing a gathering full of students, scholars and Human Resource Development Heads of various companies in the Kennedy Auditorium on the first day of four-day RECUFEST 15 (Mega Job Expo). The recruitment festival is first of its kind to be organized by the Aligarh Muslim University Students Union (AMUSU).

RECUFEST 15, which kick-started today will end on March 12. With representatives of nearly 50 reputed multinational companies invited to attend the event, RECUFEST 15 will be offering AMU students from various technical and non-technical courses a chance for wider job opportunities. 

The Vice Chancellor said, “Our efforts have not ended with the NAAC Team Inspection.” Pointing out that AMU is ranked third in Indian Universities (according to Times Educational Survey); General Shah said that soon with our efforts, AMU will be one of the best universities in the world.

Addressing the HR heads of various companies, General Shah said that AMU is an academic institution where they will not only find students who can work as highly skilled employees but also youngsters with the best of Tehzeeb (culture). Congratulating the AMUSU for organizing the event, Gen Shah stated that AMU graduates, post-graduates and scholars have carved a niche for themselves wherever they have joined as employees.

AMU’s Training and Placement Officer, Mr Saad Hameed said that our focus has been to bring employment opportunities for students enrolled in all academic and vocational courses in Aligarh. “We have been organizing seminars and workshops to provide Industrial and Corporate exposure and interface and it is a proud day for all of us on AMUSU’s achievement to make this event a possibility,” said Mr Hameed.

The Convener of the event, AMUSU President, Abdullah Azzam said that the activities of student unions in earlier days were restricted in organizing debates on political and social issues. “The present Union has broken jinx to organize this four-day recruitment festival,” said the AMUSU President who added that we are engaged in career counseling of fellow students and make them understand where they should be standing in future.While AMUSU Vice President, Masoodul Hasan and Hony Secretary, Shahzeb Ahmad are Joint Conveners of the programme, the event was conducted by Anas Ahmad.
