AMU suspends two students

Aligarh, November 9: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has suspended Asad Alam (MFC student, S Z Hall) and Muhammad Maaz Khan Sherwani (MAM student, NRSC) with immediate effect for alleged acts of indiscipline and misconduct under AMU Students’ Conduct and Discipline Rules, 1985.

Prima facie evidence suggested that the suspended students were allegedly involved in threatening AMU staff of dire consequences and ransacking of AMU’s Games Committee Office. Alam and Sherwani with unidentified men are also alleged to have way-laid, AMU Games Committee Secretary, Prof S Amjad Rizvi’s car with intentions to hurt him. The FIR against these students stated that they were brandishing weapons at the time.
