AMU Student wins equestrian prize on foreign soil

Aligarh, April 15:

Aligarh Muslim University’s exchange student to the Ohio State University, United States of America, Asim Rizvi won a first and a second place at a Horse Riding dressage show organized by the Mid Ohio Dressage Association in the United States.

Rizvi, who is attending Phd as an exchange student at Ohio State University is a fellow of the prestigious Indo-US Obama-Singh 21st Century Knowledge Initiative Program. He was the Section Commander of the Aligarh Muslim University Riding Club.

An accomplished equestrian, Rizvi began training with Jodie McKenzie an extremely respected and loved trainer in the United States, after he came to know that Madith Barton (a fellow PhD Student) rode at Jodie’s barn.

The AMU community is jubilant since this is the first ever achievement of an AMU student in any equestrian activity on foreign soil.“The love that I received at Mc Medow Farms, makes me feel extremely welcome and contributed to my success,” said Rizvi.On his success, the Olympic Dressage Rider and the current President of US Dressage Federation, Mr Gorge Williams visited Rizvi.Rizvi, who has been riding for over 15 years now rides Jodie McKenzie’s Selle Francais gelding, Angus.
