AMU student has won prestigious Queens Young Leaders Program

In the birth month of the founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Aigarh Muslim University has got one more reason to cherish, as Dr. Danish Suhail, The man behind ‘SOCH beyond imagination’ (N.G.O.), has won the prestigious Queens Young Leaders Program. He falls among the three students from India, winning it. It will bring him a unique package of training, mentoring and networking, including a one week residential program in U.K., during which he will collect his Award from Her Majesty, The Queen. This award is given to a person from a Commonwealth country, aged 18-29 years with proven work in leadership qualities.

Dr. Danish Suhail is a dental surgeon by profession, but his thoughts, ideals, sense of responsibility and dedication towards the society and social issues, did not let him remain just a healthcare professional. And for the same reason he joined The National Service Scheme- one of the reputed government organizations conducted by the Department of Youth affairs and Sports of the Govt. Of India. He volunteered for it about two years. During this time he felt himself more responsible towards the society and therefore joining with some other students of his University, set up the N.G.O. known as SOCH beyond Imagination, in 2013. It started as a small step towards the betterment of society but could not remain that small. Its works are not confined to a particular field, rather, it works for the upliftment and betterment of the society, in all directions and in whatever possible ways. SOCH, has been working since the beginning, on educational upliftment, and a lot on health and hygiene related issues through organizing various health camps like Swine flu awareness camp, oral and dental hygiene camps.

On the environmental ground it has organized campaigns like water conservation campaign, Earth hour, Tree plantation drive etc. And for the needy, it has always been the first one ready… Donation and Medical Relief Camps for Kashmir flood affected and Nepal Earthquake affected victims.. Health checkups, drug distribution camps for Muzaffarnagar Riot affected areas….and various blood donation camps, every now and then, have been some of its contributions towards the betterment of society. Working in SOCH has honed Danish’s management and leadership skills, the result of which is today in front of us all. We honour his ideals and dedication and wish him a brighter future.
