AMU staff urged to host at least one alumnus

ALIGARH October 1:
The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah has urged all AMU alumni residing in Aligarh to participate in the upcoming Alumni Meet which is scheduled for two days on October 18-19, 2015.

Presiding over an assessment meeting regarding the Alumni Meet, Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. Shah has also called on the University staff members to extend hospitality at their house to at least one alumnus who is coming from outside to attend the grand union.

Chairman of the Alumni Affairs Committee, Dr. Suhail Sabir informed that the inaugural function of the two-day Alumni Meet will be graced by Mr. Javed Usmani, former Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Padma Bhushan Dr. Ashok Seth, distinguished cardiologist, Mr. Habib Zuberi and Mr. Ameer Ahmad, eminent alumni residing in USA.

Dr. Sabir said that more than 230 alumni from all over the world, including USA, UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Pakistan, Fiji, South Korea and Egypt, are expected to participate in the event. He said that the Alumni Affairs Committee was engaged in giving final shape to the programme for the two-day meet.

AMU Registrar Dr. Asfar Ali Khan, Finance Officer Prof. S. M. Javed Akhtar, Provosts of all residential halls and other officials were present in the meeting.
