AMU probes into MBBS/BDS entrance exam

Aligarh Muslim University, May 27th 2015:

The Aligarh Muslim University has officially announced a serious investigation and strict checking into the medical examinations of MBBS and BDS due to reports of following the inconsistencies.

The decision was taken on 26th May 2015, by the esteemed authorities, which includes the Vice Chancellor, Lt. General (Retired) Zameer Uddin Shah, when doubts related to the uncertainty and the complaints that has been received regarding the result’s accuracy. As reported by the official spokesperson. “The AMU is concerned at any possibility like this but before taking a final view over the allegations and suspicion over the entrance test results, the university will wait for the Supreme Court verdict in a similar case reported from Haryana,” the spokesperson added.

A three member committee has been formed by the VC, who were to submit their reports later on the afternoon of 27th May.

As per the official release by the University, the committee includes, Prof. S.N. Pathan (former VC of RTM Nagpur University), Prof E Hasnain (former VC of University of Hyderabad), and Midattullah Khan Sherwani (a former civil servant and an incumbent visitor’s nominee of AMU’s Executive Committee).

A senior AMU official said, “”Hi-tech internet applications could have been used by some candidates at a particular centre for solving the entrance test paper.”Meanwhile, a petition has been filed in the Apex Court and the Vice Chancellor made it clear that the University would wait for a possible judgment of the Supreme Court of India on May 27, when it takes up the above case for hearing, before taking a final decision in this matter.

The doubts raised when 30 candidates from a particular centre of South India cleared the entrance test.More than 50,000 candidates applied for 180 allotted seats in both the fields. The tests were conducted in 11 centres across the nation.
