Dr Arshad Amin, Guest Faculty, Department of Remote Sensing and GIS Applications, Aligarh Muslim University attended a Geoinformatics Summer School 2016 at Laboratory for Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing (LIESMARS) Wuhan University, China from 19th June to 30th June 2016. LIESMARS lab ranks among the top three Geoinformatics labs in Asia. The lab houses WHU-ORACLE, Spatial Innovation Center; Joint International Research Laboratory of Geoinformatics, Ministry of Education, China; International Academy of Geoinformatics, Wuhan University, China; Sirindhorn International Center for Geoinformatics; International Collaboration Centre for Geo-computation Studies; International Research Center of Satellite Remote Sensing and Atmospheric Monitoring. This event invited the scientists and researchers all over the globe who have put momentous contribution to the field of Geoinformatics.
Dr Arshad distinguishably participated in this academic event attended by distinguished scientists and researchers belonging to various other nations remarkably USA, UK, Russia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Mongolia, Senegal, Nigeria, West and East China, Nepal. The summer school focused on “BDS/GNSS high precision positioning and navigation and Data mining of night-time light remote sensing and Online Sharing of Geospatial Data, Algorithm and Model”. Dr Arshad delivered a vivid presentation on, “The Current Technology and Approach for Geospatial Data Sharing”. He emphasized to develop a computerized architecture allowing to manage efficiently GIS data and related metadata and to develop high reliability web-mapping applications.
Dr Arshad is presently working as Guest Faculty in the department of Remote Sensing and GIS Applications. He is the young researcher in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS technology. Pertinent to mention here that he has attended more the 20 national and international conferences and has number of books and research publications to his credit which are of national as well as global repute
