AMU expels Phd student for ten-years

Aligarh, November 16:

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has expelled Mohd Zoraiz (Phd student under enrolment GB-4155) for a period of ten-years. Zoraiz has also been debarred from further studies, including admission and re-admission in AMU and its maintained institutions.

The decision has been taken after the honorable High Court served a charge-sheet against Zoraiz and asked him to reply within 15 days. Since his reply was not found satisfactory, a Discipline Committee constituted by the university issued a notice to Zoraiz. He had appeared in person before the committee.

Zoraiz was allegedly involved in violent incidents that took place in the intervening night of April 23 and 24, 2016.
