AMU Conducted Refresher Course in Computer Applications

Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh:
The Subject Refresher Course in Computer Applications and Special Winter School in Academic Writing concluded here at the UGC Academic Staff College, Aligarh Muslim University. Eighty one University and College teachers from Andaman and Nicobar, Assam, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand and UP participated in the three week courses.

Brigadier (Retd) Syed Ahmed Ali, Pro-Vice Chancellor graced the occasion as Chief Guest and gave away certificates to participants. He congratulated them on successfully completing the course from AMU, which is one of the top 50 Universities among BRICS countries. He urged them to uphold the values and ethics they have learnt at AMU share their experiences with their students. He said that an institution is made up of its students and teachers and AMU is committed to producing quality human resource. Brig. Ali also distributed prizes to winners of the competitions held under National Environment Awareness Campaign.

The guest of honour, Professor Faseeh Ahmad Siddiqui, former Chairman, Department of Chemistry, said that it should be our humble endeavour to educate our future generations even if the means are paltry. He also emphasized the importance of noble deeds of an educated person.

Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director, UGC Academic Staff College said that during such courses, the ASC becomes a Mini India where teachers from various cultures take important lessons in nation building. He said that the course participants have not only accomplished courses but have also become ambassadors of national integration and ecological conservation by participating in the extension activities.

The course participants, Ms Jinu Mori Saikia, Jorhat, Ms Reena Saika, Dibrugarh, Dr Shaleen Kumar Singh, Shahjahanpur, Dr Anil Kumar Singh, Khurja and Dr Ramesh Chandra Tiwari, Pithoragarh, shared their views. Dr Jamshed Siddiqui, Chairman, Department of Computer Science was also present on the occasion. Certificate Distribution for SRC Computer Applications was facilitated by the Course Coordinator Dr. S. Maheshwari and for Winter School by Dr. S. Reshma Jamal, ASC Faculty. The programme was conducted by Dr Faiza Abbasi.
