‘A December Evening’ released during AMU Lit Fest

Aligarh, March 23: Aligarh Muslim University’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College student and writer Fatima Khan’s second book ‘A December Evening’ was released by Mumbai based eminent writer and journalist, Jerry Pinto at the inaugural session of AMU’s Lit Fest.

In a speech after the book release, MBBS final year student, Fatima Khan thanked the audience for being a part of her big moment.

She later spoke about her journey of becoming a fiction writer and her experience about writing short stories, which are there in ‘A December Evening.’ Fatima Khan also read a part from one of the short stories in the book during the festival.

Commending on Fatima Khan’s success in excelling in her studies and writing, Mr Jerry Pinto wished her success for the future. “I have high hopes that Fatima will encourage other University students to passionately pursue their dreams of writing too.”

It was a festival graced by worthy wordsmiths from all across the country, which included noted author of ‘Kafkaland,’ Manisha Sethi.

Besides AMU faculties, students, scholars and writers who were present to applaud the endeavor of Fatima Khan, the festival also had President of University Literary Club Dr Siraj Ajmali; Coordinator CEC Dr F S Sherani; Department of Pharmacology’s Dr Syed Zia Ur Rahman; AMU Department of English’s Prof Asim Siddiqui, Prof Sami Rafeeq, Professor Samina Khan and Dr Aysha Munira; Prof Moheebul Haque and BBC London journalist Iqbal Ahmed.

‘A December Evening’ is Fatima Khan’s second book after ‘Feelings Take Flight’ which was released in May 2014 by Pro-Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (Retd) at the Cultural Hall of the Maulana Azad Library, Aligarh Muslim University.
